| I combined a second trip on Scotsman with a night away in York, so was able to photograph the morning departure on the Wednesday as well as travelling on the evening trip, as well as photographing the afternoon arrival and evening departure on the Thurs. On the journey into York, I spotted the stock awaiting the first trip in the south sidings, with ....45407 on the front! A quick look in the works at the NRM on the thurs revealed their new 'scrap line' display featuring 4472 and 4771!!!!!! Green Arrows' 'broken bits' were arranged on the floor for assessment showing off nicely the Con rod and cylinder cover! A museum 'explainer' said the future is uncertain and a decision is still awaited on GA's fate. Scotman's latest ailment was as yet unknown as they were waiting for it to cool down before examination began (or so we are told.....) |
